The Ernico Simbruina Musical Association was founded in 1979 by a group of friends thoroughly committed to the Art of Music. One year later, in 1980, the Ernico Simbruina Musical Association established – thanks to the generous support provided by the Cassa Rurale di Affile and Banca di Anagni- the first “Festival Simbruino” which held its first concerts in Affile and  Arcinazzo Plateau.  Following its expansion to the towns of Anagni, Fiuggi and Monte San Giovanni Campano, the Festival was named ” Festival delle Città Medievali (Festival of the Medieval Cities)” The friendship of the leading founder and artistic director Vincenzo Mariozzi  with internationally renowned musicians has given the opportunity to admire important artists such as Dino Asciolla, Giuseppe Selmi, Franco Mannino, Daniele Paris, chamber ensembles such as the “Beethoven”, the “Borodin” and the “Academica ” string quartets,  soloists such as Katia Ricciarelli, Cecilia Gasdia, Renato Bruson, Anna Caterina Antonacci, Salvatore Accardo, Uto Ughi, Giuliano Carmignola, Vladimir Spivakov, Pavel Vernikov, Sergio Fiorentino, Maria Tipo, Aldo Ciccolini, Michele Campanella, Costantin Bogino, Severino Gazzelloni, Angelo Persichilli, Mario Ancillotti, Bruno Cavallo, Marco Costantini, Rino Vernizzi, Fabrizio Meloni, Gui Tuvron, Luciano Giuliani, Guelfo Nalli.
